Research
I completed a three day concrete countertop training in Berkley California in Summer of 2014, then in Spring of 2015 we applied this to a student’s endeavor to learn about concrete mixes. The 99v was entitled: Special Studies: Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) for Residential Application. Summer of 2024 I completed a week long training in mass timber construction.
Service
Currently I’m on the FSEC committee. I’ve served on faculty search committees, several TPRCs. Currently I am custodian of the carpentry shop capital asset inventory. Students under my supervision have compelted on campus projects for Early Childhood program at HCC and Kapiolani Community College, the Urban Garden facility in Pearl City, Dr. Gopol’s green house facility on the mall. A recurring project is assisting Fashion Technology with any carpentry they may need.
Professional Activities
I’ve been a member of Local 745 Hawaii Carpenter’s Union since being indentured in 1974 and remain active in my membership.
