E komo mai! The 91探花 is committed to the improvement of student learning across campus, including through all services and instructional units. Assessment is an ongoing and interactive process consisting of the following steps:
- Defining the outcomes.
- Determining appropriate methods to assess the outcomes.
- Gathering evidence of the outcomes.
- Analyzing the evidence.
- Using this information to improve student learning and evolve the program/service.
O ke kahua mamua, mahope ke kūkulu. The site first, and then the building.
Our institution has established outcomes for all:
1. Services: Service Area Outcomes (SAOs)
Units or participants achieve SAOs after experiencing a particular initiative. SAOs are mapped to our institutional Core Values.
2. Instructional units: Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
Students achieve:
- Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) after completing a course: Communication and Services (XLSX), Cooperative Education (XLSX), Liberal Arts (XLSX), Transportation and Trades (XLSX).
- Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs (PDF)) after completing a specific degree or certificate.
- Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs) after completing any paths of study.
CLOs are mapped to PLOs and ILOs through a split map (PDF). Outcomes are approved by the Committee for Programs and Curricula (CPC via ). In courses with system-wide “articulation” or “designation,” CLOs are also shaped by “foundation” or “diversification” hallmarks as coordinated by the General Education Board.
